NOTE: You must perform all steps before your Data Academy site will function. During this process, the Data Academy site will be unavailable.
Please also take a backup of your existing Data Academy website directory (usually in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\) and your existing Data Academy SQL database. Also, go to Start > Programs > Insource/Data Academy > Data Services and make a note of these settings
To upgrade to Data Academy 5.4 and above:
- Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all programs starting with (or to do with) “Data Academy”, such as:
“Accelerator”,
“Data Academy”,
“Data Academy Data Services”,
“Data Academy Form Builder”,
“Data Academy GOVERN-it”,
“Data Academy TRANS-it”,
“Magistrate Enforcer”,
“Innovator”
- Install all the Setup Install files. Make sure you’re installing to the same directories as the previous version of Data Academy.
- Data Academy (if installing on a 64bit machine with 64bit SQL and 64bit IIS, use the _64 file), then
- Academy Data Services, then
- Innovator/Data Academy Form Builder (if purchased) and finally
- Magistrate Enforcer/GOVERN-it.
- Run Data Services Configuration.
(It may complain about the licence key being invalid (as the licence key format has changed). Please generate a LOK file and send it to us – we will send you a new licence key. When you receive the licence key, please open Data Services and press the “Upload Key” button, and select the licence key we sent you. )
- Make sure the settings to connect to the database are correct (use the Test button to verify), then press the "DB Installer" button and then OK. This will upgrade the database that's shown in the "Database Upgrade" list (not replace). Your data won’t be lost! (Unless you have customized the menus, you should SELECT the 'Upgrade Menus checkbox!)
- Follow the steps on this page, from “Website Security Configuration” to the end of “Linking the Database and Website Together”.
- Test the website works as desired.
