Case Studies

Find out just how much value Data Academy has brought to our customers:

The Peverel Group

The Peverel Group recently purchased Data Academy. The initial business driver behind the purchase of Data Academy was the launch of a new service for customers based around client access to their own service accounts online. This service called "Your Property Online" is highly dependent on data being fed to it from a number of sources. Initial pilots prior implementing Data Academy were less than successful with processing and load times in excess of 30 hours.

After implementation and training, Andy had this to say about Data Academy: "Data Academy allows you to put together a data warehouse without detailed knowledge of Analysis and Integration Services" and he continued to say "I thought that our developers would want to write a Data Warehouse from scratch, but in fact the opposite turned out to be the case. It has removed the bulk of the coding and enabled us to concentrate on adding value through analysis and reporting".

Since its initial implementation, Peverel have expanded their implementation to include analysis of Internal Market share. "It was a real eye opener" explains Andy, "it’s allowed RHS (Retirement Home Search) to see where they had lost market share and why the marketing department now knows where to focus their efforts."

FIAT Auto Financial Services Ltd

Fiat Auto Financial Services Ltd needed to prevent their customer base from being continually depleted. They needed an appropriate Data Warehousing tool that could integrate with the financial database from a remote source, managed by a third party, to enable them to convert the data to a customer-centric data model and to have an internal database on which they could build their own reports.

"Data Academy is a product that has slotted into our architecture", says IT Director, Pieter-Paul Barker.

"As a solution it has completely fulfilled its brief - it is the tool between the third party's CRM system and our database and gives us the customer-centric view of the data that we wanted."

  Hannover re

Hannover Life Reassurance (UK) Limited has built an enviable position over the last two decades as one of Britain's leading life and health reassurers since its formation in 1984. 2007 saw the company reach a gross written premium of £136.5 Million, and total assets under management at £675 Million. The company's strong organic growth has been mirrored by the evolution of the internal systems. This eventually presented a situation which will be familiar to many organisations across the UK; a disparate number of platforms presenting isolated information.

"[...] our confidence in the stability, flexibility and robust nature of developments undertaken in Data Academy, that meant we had no hesitation in recommending it to Hannover to meet their requirements", Jackie Sawyer, Sales Director, Insource (Reseller partner for Hannover Re)

"Since the completion of the project, the requirements for the delivery of the Management Information Pack have been met every quarter, without any problems."

Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust

With extremely tight timescales and the desire to use a simple and intuitive interface to the complex data structures, Heart of England selected Data Academy to deliver a high-value, robust and scalable data warehousing solution. Within just 12 weeks, the Heart of England team created, tested and released to the business its first Key Performance Indicators.

"We knew there was only one product combination that could assist them in meeting their delivery and that was Data Academy and SQL Server." Peter Stevens, Technical Director, Insource IT Consultancy (Reseller Partner for HEFT)

Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust (PCT)

Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust (PCT) is the NHS organisation responsible for health services in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The PCT shares its boundaries with the borough of Richmond, serving approximately 192,000 people. The provision of reports was technically difficult. "We had multiple data sources; and because of the disparity of our operational systems each system has its own query language and means of presenting the data, making it difficult to integrate the data" says Graham Obeney, Associate Director of Information Management. "We were looking for a single way of integrating multiple data sources able to accept feeds from multiple sources, to render them to a consistent format".

"People definitely see the power of Insource Data Academy. To have that level of access to immediate information is just a revelation to them." Graham Obeney, Associate Director of Information Management.
